I was inspired to start this thread after seeing the poster named BanjoKazooie (excellent taste!)

I was not very old when the N64 came out and my sister and I would waste hours playing the likes of the aforementioned Banjo Kazooie and Tooie, Super Mario 64, Goldeneye. We also played the SNES with our Mum- she ADORED Donkey Kong Country.

My top moments include when my sister beat K.Rool in Country 2- I actually cried when the credits came on because it felt like the end of an era. We were quite shit at games what with us being under 10, so it took forever to see him nailed haha.

Also, Goldeneye was another favourite. We spent ages slapping each other as Natalia and Xenia in the Facility toilets fighting over 'perfume' (a story arc we just made up)

Banjo Kazooie... well I don't know where to begin- the 'bee level' (Click Clock Wood) was so much fun and pretty mindblowing in hindsight, given the graphics capabilities at the time.

I want to hear what other people's fave games pre xBox 360, Wii and PS4 are

All the Monkey Island games, ToeJam and Earl, Sonic, Road Rash, Cool Spot.

Oh the times, playing ToeJam and Earl 2 right now, oh the beautiful fucking memories!!!!!

You're wife is as attractive as a monkey in a negligee.

Cool Spot!b I loved that game, had forgotten all about it. Also one with a rabbit that jumped around on huge platforms.

I remember playing Dune on the pc back in the 90s, that seemed so advanced at the time.

Silent Hill 2. Unreasonably creepy and psyche-invading. LOVED IT.

Zelda Ocarina of Time. Just so engrossing and fun and pretty.

Cool Spot, I remember playing it loads as a kid. Megadrive was my first ever console.

Finishing Resident Evil on the original Playstation. Plus absolutely sitting myself when the dogs jump through the window in the hallway.

When I was very young, playing the Lord of the Rings game on my dad's Spectrum

Me and Dh often like to have this discussion. I always remember the bit with the t-rex from tombraider (not sharon) and yy to the dogs from resident evil. Also the first time you see a licker in resi 2 - made me jump. And pyramid head from silent Hill 2. Me and dh played that together not long after we first started dating and so pyramid head always makes me feel slightly nostalgic Confused

Chuckie Egg - when the caged bird is released and all bets are off.

Watching friends playing Magic Carpet and swooping their whole bodies around as they played flying across the landscape.

Tomb Raider - the Cistern was the level I really remember. They took so long to solve, you got to know them really well.

Coming late to the party with Mario and realising what all the fuss was about with Super Mario Sunshine. What a great game.

Oblivion. They erected a statue in my honour. I've never forgotten.

Ooh and My powerhouse of a SimCity that just could afford any fucking thing, with those Terrariums or Panopticons or whatever they were called. I have played since, but never achieved anything like it.

First gaming memories, Altered Beast played by my dad, got the Sega mega drive collection for our Xbox 360 now so still play it. Also Sonic the Hedgehog, the opening tune! Mum was a fan of desert/jungle strike on the mega drive. Also remember playing Hogs of War, can't recall the platform but it was insane and funny! FF7 was amazing. But ultimately, the best, most epic was Zelda:Ocarina of Time in the N64. Spent a whole summer at the age of 15 playing it. Dh got me a 3Ds a couple of years ago for Xmas with the 3d version and still love it! Now dd likes it.
