High protein snack ideas for holidays

Hi. We’re going to Crete on Saturday after lots of rebookings (thanks Trump).

I am mainly vegan but DS is strict. I know Greece is not very vegetarian-friendly, let alone vegan so I’d like to take some high protein savoury snacks with us in the suitcase.

Does anyone have any suggestions please?

Hi Rainbow. Thank you. I was hoping for savoury snacks really.

I found Greece actually quite accommodating a couple of years ago. In 2007-ish I starved as a vegetarian so had low expectations.

Protein was low on the ground but fava is made from split peas. We got a side of that with most meals.

Sorry I don’t have ideas to take with you unless you make something like roasted chickpeas or garam flour bites. Or, you know, nut/seed mixes etc. Not sure I know of any savoury pre-made vegan snacks? But would love to!

Agree with eating the local Fava. It’s delicious and you can usually get it in most places. We went a couple of years ago and didn’t really have a problem.

Thank you. I think it will be fava, vine leaves without yogurt and chips!

And houmous?

Large bag of mixed nuts and do some crispy/ seasoned chicken peas in the airfryer.

The supermarkets stock a wide range of vegan foods, the lidl vegan range is amazing if there's one near where you're staying, the curry flavoured houmous and vegan nuggets make a great lunch to take to the bea h, and vegan cheese and non dairy milks are always available in even small resort supermarkets. Where are you staying?
