Hello!

I've got 3 vegan kids coming to a party of 32, 1 with a milk allergy.

What can I buy to serve that won't be boring for them?

Thank you.

Ask the parent.

Screenager · 16/02/2026 21:35

Jam sandwiches and some salt & vinegar crisps.

WongandLynch · 16/02/2026 21:38

Vegan sausage rolls or vegan pizza? Lots of crisps are accidentally vegan.

AgentPidge · 16/02/2026 21:38

Hummus, guacamole and sliced carrots, celery, peppers. Vegan cheese and mango chutney sandwiches.

WongandLynch · 16/02/2026 21:39

Oh, and if you’re doing sandwiches, Squeaky Bean ham is pretty good. I don’t usually like vegan meats buts that’s nice.

Brewtiful · 16/02/2026 21:42

Hartley's jelly
Soreen bars
Oreos
Party rings
Pom bears

And oggs mini cupcakes it's actually pretty easy to do a picky spread that's all vegan.

Marmite pinwheels with butter free puff pastry. Quorn nuggets. Veg sticks. Crisps or corn chips with salsa. Veggie sausages. Sweetcorn fritters.

Fairy bread!! An Australian treat. Spread white bread (crusts cut off) with margarine, cover in sprinkles. Delicious.

That’s my idea of a perfect picky bits dinner!

FunnyOrca · 16/02/2026 22:11

I would ask the parents. A lot of the food mentioned here is quite expensive and my kid wouldn’t touch!

DressDilemma · 16/02/2026 22:16

Vegan sausage rolls, plain crisps, popcorn, Oreo’s, fruit kebabs, vegetable crudités with hummus, puff pastry pinwheels, jam and vegan butter sandwiches, jelly

justasmalltownmum · 16/02/2026 22:43

Vegan pizza

Tiptopflipflop · 16/02/2026 22:50

Ask the parents if going for something specific. Lots of vegans don't tend to buy fake meats as they're heavily processed, so the kids might not eat them. Mine wouldn't.

The accidentally vegan options like Oreos and Party Rings are good as you can offer the same to everyone.

Be careful with crisps. Some unexpected (cheese and meat) flavours are accidentally vegan, but an awful lot have milk that you'd not expect from the supposed flavour. Check ingredient lists, don't just assume.

FlickaFlacka · 16/02/2026 23:37

Jam sandwiches, Pom bears, party rings, cucumber sticks / veg crudités, fruit kebabs, jelly, ice lollies.

I would usually check with parents though, especially with an allergy.

Yes, always check but there are tons of flavours that are vegan even some cheese and onion ones!

ProfessorBinturong · 17/02/2026 12:53

That's wrong about Pringles. There aren't 'many'vegan flavours - there's one. Only the plain ones are milk free.

StrangewaysHereWeCome · 17/02/2026 12:58

While I used to serve up plenty of UPF party classics, I was pleasantly surprised that the large fruit platter I put on the table mainly to assuage my own conscience was always the first thing that the kids finished.

WongandLynch · 17/02/2026 14:04

Yes, I used ot be able to eat the paprika and BBQ ones as a vegan, but that's changed in the last 12 months or so!

ProfessorBinturong · 17/02/2026 16:41

The change was about 4 years ago.
