Are you always rock solid about your vegan principles? Or do you sometimes have fomo?

I have been a vegan for about 25 years but some days (when eating out or shopping for shoes especially) I wish there were more options. I wonder if life would be more pleasant/enjoyable (I can’t think of exactly the right word) if I just didn’t care. I do care though, so here I am. But I wonder if my fomo means I don’t care enough?

No, of course it doesn't. That's one of the reasons why it's hard to always live by one's principles.

I don’t think it means you don’t care enough, you’re still vegan despite sometimes feeling how you do.

I don’t have fomo though, there’s so much more choice of everything now that it feels fairly easy to me in comparison to how it was years ago, so I just hold onto that!

I have massive fomo with certain foods and clothing and would enjoy life more if I could turn a blind eye, but I can't . The fact I stick with veganism shows how much I care.

It IS hard to be 100% vegan. I hear you when you say you wish it were easier to live a regular life without having to double check everything, and go to specialist shops etc.

I was recently on holiday in a large group in a place where vegan foods in restaurants were difficult to come by. I really struggled at times to find anything suitable, but I still didn't want to compromise and eat something non vegan. ( I just drank more wine instead).

One of my hols this year is to France - I have been doing my research and trying to find vegan restaurants in the towns we will be visiting and it's not easy. So far I have found a few options and have saved them for our trip. So much advance planning whereas before it was a joyous thing to just fall into a restaurant and eat whatever was on offer.

But I do it for the animals 😇
