Vegan Shoes

Could you recommend some waterproof, good quality vegan shoes or boots? I'm willing to pay more for footware that will last.

I walk three miles to work and three miles back five days a week through a soggy, always-raining city.

Over the last few years, I've been in the (bad) habit of buying cheapy shoes that let the water in after a couple of weeks and with all grip disappearing from the sole after a month. This is a problem since some of the flagstones in the city centre turn very slippy after rain, so 90% of the time.

I'm a tall woman with size nine feet, meaning that I often end up wearing men's shoes for lack of choice. But I'm not bothered about that. My job isn't customer facing. Really, I'd just like to arrive in work with dry feet.

My running shoes are vegan and waterproof. Mizuno Wave Rider Goretex.
Not office wear, but all black runners.
When we were living in Sweden, I had Nike storm shoes I loved and I would run in the snow and have dry fit. I couldn't find them here in Australia so went for Mizuno, because Sydney is quite wet.
Always look for Goretex finish .

Thank you @Cormoran !

I've google'd them, and they seem to be just what I'm looking for. I've heard Gore-tex recommended elsewhere, and the Mizunos seem to have the right mix of being light enough not to weigh me down and tough enough to cope with a lot of walking.

I bought a pair of vegan boots from Josef Seibel last year. They are super comfortable and still look brand new. Good price too.

I quite fancy a second pair in a different colour.. :)

Thank you! They do look lovely.

After much um-ing and ah-ing, I eventually went for something from Will's Vegan Shoes (have owned them one week; great and amazingly comfortable so far though it's early days).

I think I might be developing a taste for footwear that doesn't dissolve in the first shower, so will keep Josef Seibel bookmarked. And I quite fancy the floral ones! Change from boring blacks and browns.

Can't help with vegan brands as I'm still wearing the boots I bought 10 years ago (pre vegan) but as a fellow generous of foot, I would recommend seeing if you have a decent outdoor shop - I went to Cotswold Outdoor - and have a proper fitting done. The ones I bought 10 years ago probably have another 10 years left in them and I've never had the slightest hint of a blister.

I’m I’ve got the Wills Vegan waterproof insulated Chelsea boots and they’re amazing, so I imagine any of their waterproof boots would be good.

I have found Wills to not last very long. I have boots from Pavers and they last a long time.

My Wills boots have been going strong for a couple of years now and that’s with several long (often muddy and wet) dog walks a day! They’ve done better than my DMs!

I've had them for a couple of months now and they are lovely. Much lighter than I expected. Also very warm and soft inside, so they've been great in this cold weather, especially since my feet get cold very easily.

Of course, it's still early days, but so far my experiences have been positive!

Anything from Vegetarian Shoes.

Ethically sourced and the doc style boots are made in the UK (I think the factory that used to make docs)

I got my first few pairs off vinted (including some slip on shoes for work) but have splashed out on a couple of new pairs of the boots.

Check the sizing (it tells you on their website) as some come up big

They're waterproof, don't leave you with sweaty feet and are hard-wearing.

I have a vegan pair of boots from Solovair. I wear them every day, had them for about a year and they are like new, super comfy.

Marks and Spencer do a lot of vegan shoes! (Labelled vegan). I used to be on my feet all day and they were soooo comfy
