Protein Powder recommendations and how to use it

I need to up my protein without upping my calories too much (I love cheese and nuts but probably shouldn't be eating even more than I already do!). I'm often hungry so want to get more protein in me. I've been thinking about protein powder, but which one is good and how to use it?? E.g. can I just sprinkle it into a cake or loaf before I bake it, or onto of a salad/pasta?

I started making my own. Bought powders have a horrible synthetic taste ime and are expensive. I have a spice grinder on my food processor so do a batch in that. I put it in my smoothies, I bake it in a cake I make each week, you can put it in sauces to add protein and thicken etc.

How did I not know this? Looks supereasy and much cheaper than the packets of pea protein powder I buy

Thanks for sharing .

I am on a specific diet plan which requires quite a high protein intake. I do use protein powders - I buy from Bulk as they are good value, and the packaging composts easily.

My overnight oats get a scoopful - and I will have a shake post workout or just as my afternoon snack if no workout that day. I use one - sometimes two scoops- a small banana, handful of spinach, some frozen berries.. If I am really struggling to get the protein in for the day I will just mix a scoop of powder in a bowl with water to make a paste and eat that...🤒

I make iced coffee with unflavoured powder. Add almond milk, a decent spoon of instant coffee and I add a very small amount of flavour syrup. Then leave in the fridge to thicken/smooth out and dissolve the coffee properly.
