Hypothyroidism and plant-based diet-your thoughts?

I came across this video and found it really interesting

Does anyone suffer with Hypothyroidism? Do you feel your plant-based diet can help with this? I'd love to hear other people's thoughts because I recently got diagnosed!

Plant based diet is associated with lower risk of chronic and autoimmune diseases. It reversed mine.

Plant based diet is associated with higher digestive issues and you don’t get all of the essential amino acids you need especially tryptophan which is only available from animal sources.

Hypothyroidism is a stressor, best not add to the stress with plant based diet.

People post all sorts of pseudo-scientific rubbish on youtube because it drives viewers to their pages and makes them money. Search for "cancer cure" there and see what kind of nonsense comes up.

Nothing can cure autoimmune hypothyroidism.

When you're at the point of needing hormone replacement (thyroxine) too much damage has been done. Thyroid don't regenerate.

The best diet is the one that works for you. There is no one size fits all here.

A quick Google suggests that tryptophan can be found in oats, nuts and seeds.

My thyroid problems started when I was vegan , having been so for around 20 years prior to diagnosis
so a plant based diet certainly was not useful to me
