Where do you do your online shop if you're vegan on a budget?

I can't get to the shops this week and I usually go to Aldi.

I'm on a budget and we are vegan.

If you are broke / tight / on a budget and shop online, where do you shop for groceries please?

Tesco is my go to. I book a cheaper 4 hour slot.

I find they have the widest vegan range, although Asda is a close runner up! The problem with Asda is they take the money the day before, and then if anything is substituted or out of stock you have to wait for a refund. Not ideal if your budget is tight.

Brilliant, thank you and that's really useful to know about Asda!

I've got the Tesco app and a club card, so will have a look.

asda is cheaper than tesco. Have you checked if deliveroo will deliver Aldi shopping in your area though?

Look out for offers open to new customers too - I think Ocado have £20 off for new customers at the moment although I don't know what the minimum spend is... and you may well end up spending £20 more on there anyway!

Caspianberg · 05/06/2022 11:57

Ocado is actually very reasonable. Yes you can probably by xyz bread for £4, but you can also buy m and s own brand loaf which is excellent for 0.65p

Like above its £20 off for new customers atm ( although I just had a £25 off for existing too so it’s often available). Min spend £60. (£40 with voucher)

JennyJumpsuit · 05/06/2022 18:17

Thanks all! Will check out Ocado as well

Sainsburys or tesco, purely for the added bonus of nectar/club card points, they soon add up

Lovemusic33 · 05/06/2022 19:23

I’m not vegan but I eat a lot of vegan food and dd has a lot or allergies (dairy, gluten), we shop at Ocado, there seems to be a lot more choice, some things are pricey but their own brand is pretty reasonable and they have some good offers.
