Hi, I bought this recently but I don't know how to make carbonara, I'm vegetarian and have never actually eaten carbonara as come from a Muslim family. Could anyone help me out with a recipe to use up this sauce and make a veggie or vegan carbonara?

I'm struggling with this! Are you using a bacon substitute or just spaghetti?

Just cook pasta and add the sauce to it after it has been drained. You don't need to have meat with it. Add some extra cheddar cheese.

Id probably fry some mushrooms and add them to the sauce then stir through Tagliatelle or spaghetti.

We've nipped in and edited your thread title now @MeadowHay - hope that helps.

I was planning to use a bacon substitute with it but I don't really know what carbonara is meant to be like! Usually use the Quorn bacon at home for things like sandwiches. I suppose I could cook that separately and then chop it up and mix it all together at the end? Isn't it meant to have chicken in it too? I dunno!

I don't like mushrooms unfortunately!

I think the Sacla one already has the bacon substitute in the form of pea protein?
