Hi all!
Firstly, just for clarity, I am not actually vegan!
I have recently gotten into a relationship with someone who is though, and I would really like to be able to cook for him when the time comes so I've been doing a lot of research and experimenting with food to try and create new meals we can both have. I'm also keen to save money and lose weight so it seemed like a good opportunity to try it out.
I am on a low budget so I have been bulking up my meals with lentils/pulses etc for a long time so switching to entirely plant based was not much of a stretch for me. I don't eat a lot of dairy anyway and already used plant milks most of the time so not much has changed in that respect. I don't eat most 'meat replacements' because I just don't enjoy the taste/texture most of the time so I just use extra veg instead. Very little junk food in my typical diet.
I've been noticing though that my body isn't responding too favourably to the change and I'm wondering if this is normal and to be expected?
Might be TMI but I've been having a lot of stomach/bowel issues, not diarrhoea or constipation but I am having pain/cramps, bloating, gas and I'm going FAR more frequently! I don't want to stop what I'm doing but I suppose I'm just wondering if it will settle down as my system gets used to it 😂 It's a bit embarrassing so I don't want to ask my new beau!
