Has anyone tried these. They are so good! 💚😊

Yes! Thought they looked disgusting (as do Richmond meat sausages IMO) but they taste good! Best fake meat on the market I think, impossible to tell the difference.

Ginfordinner · 14/02/2021 10:54

Yes. They are a staple in this house. If you slip the skins off you can turn them into "meatballs" to have with spaghetti and tomato sauce.

Skyliner001 · 14/02/2021 10:56

Oh interesting!!

They are like the type of sausage I enjoyed before going veggie. They are just lovely!

Will try the meatball thing!

Its a no from me, they are too sausagey.

Newfor2021 · 14/02/2021 10:57

Haha I was worried they’d be too sausagey for me too! Grin

Ginfordinner · 14/02/2021 10:59

They taste like cheap sausages. I'm not vegan, but I agree that they are the best substitute meat product around.

TheVolturi · 14/02/2021 11:00

Yeah we like these too!

poppyzbrite4 · 14/02/2021 11:04

Love them.

Skyliner001 · 14/02/2021 13:36

It sounds awful, but I like them because they do taste like cheap normal sausages, that I used to eat before I was vegetarian! And that I had a bit of a soft spot for…

FishWithoutABike · 14/02/2021 13:41

I don’t really like them but as a vegetarian of 30 years I don’t really like meaty things. What annoys me most about them is they are always with the actual meat sausages. I buy sausages for my kids so I have seen them there but I don’t think most vegetarian spend their time perusing the meat aisle.

RogueV · 14/02/2021 13:43

Yes from us
Love the meatball idea!

CorianderBee · 14/02/2021 13:45

I think Richmond found it easier to mimic the flavour of their cheap, filled with crap sausages than other brands do 😂

But yes, we love to chop them up and throw in a pasta dish or even remove the skins and chop into little chunks, fry off and add on top of pasta dishes to mimic bacon/giancale

Skyliner001 · 14/02/2021 14:23

So true 😂😂

Love em.

NymphInYellow · 14/02/2021 14:50

We had them last night. They are great in a sausage casserole too.

Ginisatonic · 14/02/2021 14:54

I hated them. Horrible chewy skin.

cobblers123 · 14/02/2021 14:57

I bought these on Mumsnetters recommendation and I love them. I was sure I would be disappointed but no, they are really nice. Smile

Frazzlefrazle · 14/02/2021 14:58

We love them too. The best alternative.

Merename · 14/02/2021 14:59

I love them too. Have you tried Simon Howies vegetarian black pudding? So good. Agree with pp that it’s wrong that it’s in with the meat, but that’s where to find it if you want to try.

Litthefirealready · 14/02/2021 15:00

I did love them - but the smell makes me feel a bit sick now. Family love them though so will persevere.

NannyR · 14/02/2021 15:16

I seem to be in a minority, but I thought they were awful! Very weird texture and aftertaste, the Heck ones were very similar too. I don't usually mind fake meaty products, but I wouldn't buy these again.

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 14/02/2021 15:19

I haven't Simon Howies vegetarian black pudding, but I think it's the same company that does a v nice veggie haggis.

MummytoCSJH · 14/02/2021 16:31

We love these!

GoodbyePorpoiseSpit · 14/02/2021 16:37

Love them! Just wish the skins were more crispy - they often sort of ....shrivel up !

Quaagars · 27/03/2021 01:05

They're brilliant.
Even the carnivorous kids who moan their head off at anything vegan really like these ones!
So like meat versions.
