Out of date tofu

I found a box of tofu lurking in the back of the fridge. It's a couple of weeks out of date. Is it still usable?

I've only rarely cooked with it so not sure how to tell once I've opened it.

I personally wouldn't eat it. Better to be safe then sorry!

I wouldn't either.

Nope.I had a dream that my tofu had gone off last night!

I find that tofu doesn’t go ‘off’.
I bulk buy it when it’s on offer and sometime have some left after the use by date and it’s always fine, if I hadn’t known it was out of date I’d never have been able to tell, it’s always exactly the same as normal.

Also, if it’s ‘bad’ trust me you will be able to tell,
‘Off’ tofu smells revolting.

I've used out of date tofu and been fine. When I had some that went bad it stunk of rotten eggs. I would open it up and see

I used out of date tofu once to make scrambled tofu for dd when she was little. It looked, smelled and tasted fine but she had terrible stomach ache after eating it.

I usually ignore dates and just look at the state of food but tofu is now the one food where I do rigidly stick to the dates.

I think there's a few weeks give on the best before dates for tofu!

I found an out of date packet of tofu a few days ago, sniffed and nibbled a bit, seemed fine so I used it and we’re all ok
