Hi all

I thought it might be good to have a Christmas food thread so we can be inspired by all everyone's delicious vegan ideas for Christmas.

On Christmas Day we are having.

Pastries (i am also gf and my daughter is going to make me vegan gf almond croissants - i cannot wait!)
Christmas dinner
Starter- homemade mushroom and tarragon pate with lemon on melba toasts. It is sooo tasty.
Main course
Our traditional nut roast that we have had for decades. It usually has egg in it but I will put an alternative in this year to bind - any ideas?). ALL the trimmings.

Dessert - thinking of making a cashew cheesecake and I have found a vegan gf Christmas pudding.

We are also having another traditional boxing day meal so will look forward to your ideas.

I love bread sauce. My daughter would cancel Christmas if we did dinner without it.

Christmas Eve breakfast - Asda’s reindeer crumpets
Christmas Eve Lunch - spiced butternut soup with star shaped croutons (made with a small biscuit cutter)
Christmas Eve dinner - mushroom and parsnip rosti pie www.bbc.co.uk/food/recipes/mushroom_and_parsnip_91300 and warm mince pies with whipped Elmlea cream

Christmas breakfast - La Boulangere vegan croissant. I like mine served warm with caramel sauce, dark chocolate chips and raspberries. I’ve made this sauce realfood.tesco.com/recipes/vegan-salted-caramel.html but Sweet Freedom caramel syrup would work too.

Christmas dinner - sausage plait www.deliciousmagazine.co.uk/recipes/vegan-sausage-plait/ with roast potatoes, parsnips, carrots and sprouts.
Dessert - Christmas pudding realfood.tesco.com/recipes/vegan-christmas-pudding.html and Just Love Food chocolate orange Christmas cake (with sparklers in the top!)
Evening snack meal - Cranberry and chestnut falafel wraps

Boxing Day breakfast - Black Forest Bircher made with dairy alternatives www.bbcgoodfood.com/recipes/black-forest-bircher
Boxing Day lunch - Asda vegan cauliflower cheese wellington
Boxing Day dinner -

Love the sound of Black Forest Bircher

These all sound amazing... I'm really stuck for what to do so does anyone else have any more of their menus?!

At my mum’s so she is doing sides and usual stuff for everyone else, I’m making my own beetroot Wellington to have in place of their salon en croute on Christmas Eve, brownies with ices cream for everyone for pud. Cinammon rolls for everyone christmas morning, and a nut roast with dates and butternut squash in place of their Turkey for the main event - chocolate Christmas spices cheesecake for pud

I do need a starter - they’re all having smoked salmon and cream cheese on cucumber, would love some ideas (though I’m not going shopping again!)
