If anything :)
I miss longley farm cottage cheese with chives Grin the food a lot of folk hate! I can get the creamy tarty fix from hummus but if ever I do lapse, it'll be that! I've lasted 18 years.

OP posts:

A poached egg.

loopylindazdaughter · 16/04/2020 19:45

Chicken in a curry only time I miss meat is in a curry

1066vegan · 16/04/2020 19:56

Loads at first. Poached egg on toast, ice-cream, cake, chocolate, biscuits, pancakes, pizza. But that was about 30 years ago when vegan alternatives weren't exactly plentiful. Nothing now.

DFAMA · 19/04/2020 23:18

Halloumi

Hiphopopotamus · 27/04/2020 20:22

Really fresh fish

zscaler · 27/04/2020 21:57

Soft boiled eggs with buttery toast. Nothing vegan quite hits that spot yet!

IJumpedAboardAPirateShip · 26/05/2020 19:21

My mums roast chicken, a chorizo and butter bean stew I used to make, and really good french goats cheese

CodenameVillanelle · 26/05/2020 19:22

Halloumi, feta, Greek yoghurt. They can't be replaced.

chickadeedeedee · 16/06/2020 21:29

Egg. Feta cheese.

Everything else I can deal with.

noitsachicken · 16/06/2020 21:31

Clotted cream

Etinox · 16/06/2020 21:34

Blue cheese 😞

goteam · 16/06/2020 21:40

Halloumi, feta, strong cheddar, stilton, cheesy omelette with mushrooms, scrambled eggs with asparagus on buttery toast.

Ice cream, cake (with egg and dairy) and chocolate have decent enough vegan substitutes.

It's been decades since I ate meat so dont miss that. Or fish.

EveryPlanetHasAYorkshire · 24/06/2020 20:41

Sometimes I miss halloumi but I think it's the salt I crave so I just eat something salty.

I used to miss tuna but then I discovered chickpea 'tuna'.

1940s · 24/06/2020 20:50

I miss the theatrics and event of a cheese board paired with wine and quince jam, figs, walnuts and honey
I miss the mindless nibbling of chocolates shared in the office or at Halloween (specifically rooting for the snickers in the box of celebrations)
I miss the mindless acceptance of a rather dull slice of birthday cake at an event
I miss forerro roche at Christmas

1940s · 24/06/2020 20:51

Scones, jam and proper clotted cream
(Cream first then Jam....)

1940s · 24/06/2020 20:52

Oh and mint choc chip ice cream!

goteam · 24/06/2020 21:27

@EveryPlanetHasAYorkshire I find a houmous and sundried tomato sandwich / baguette sort of recreates halloumi. Or kalamata olives. You're right, its the saltiness.

VeganCow · 24/06/2020 21:39

Nothing but strong cheddar. When they invent one that mimics the real thing, vegans will rejoice.

CluelessBaker · 27/06/2020 11:25

A poached or boiled egg with buttery toast. It’s the one thing you can’t really replicate on a vegan diet! I don’t miss much any more, but now and then I get such a craving for a really good boiled egg.

Orange89 · 01/07/2020 21:08

Soft Brie and Lurpack on french bread ! Newly vegan so this one is tough!! I used to have a slab of butter with the Brie so it's probably for the the best!! Oh and mozzarella sticks! Cheese basically. I haven't found a vegan replacement that quite cuts it but I will just have to go without and I'm also hoping I can undo some of the inevitable damage my previous diet of 30 years has done to my body.

anxietrist · 02/07/2020 08:32

OP try this, it's delicious. I have it on a bagel 🥯

What non-vegan thing do you miss?
sweetkitty · 03/07/2020 00:30

I agree with the strong cheddar vegan cheese doesn’t cut it at all.

MrsJacksonAvery · 03/07/2020 01:18

Poached egg on toast - pretty much the only thing there is no alternative to. And Wotsits.

KuruptFM · 05/07/2020 19:31

Salty butter.

Snow234 · 02/10/2020 18:30

McDonald’s banana and strawberry milkshakes.
