I’m just interested to know what was the overriding factor that made people become vegan/vegetarian.
What was the main reason/factor for you? (animal cruelty, environmental concerns, health, other).
And what process or experience led into your decision (eg, something you read, an online video, friend/family influence, a combination of stuff, thinking the issue through yourself). Thanks!

Hi many reasons- health then climate. Are you vegan?

Haven't fully changed. Would like to be vegetarian for climate reasons, but seem to really struggle with meat cravings, low iron, and probably other random vitamins. Happy to have vitamin tablets and spinach in every meal but still fail. Meat on Sunday and often on Saturday.

Have you watched game changers and what the health on Netflix? That’ll help - so much information on there.

Animal cruelty in factory farming was the first one, closely followed by environment then health.

Increasing guilt over animal welfare. I love animals and cannot bear any kind of cruelty towards them. Eventually I had to question my own morals when continuing to eat meat and dairy.

Environmental and health concerns - we'd already been doing meat-free meals during the week. Going completely vegan was the easiest way of making sure we eat plenty of vegetables and fibre!!

Watching the Game Changers was the tipping point that encouraged us to go for it. So far so good, although cheese has been a challenge. I also travel a lot and trying to eat vegan out on the road when you're staying in the middle of nowhere, has been tricky at times. However I have been pleasantly surprised by the number of chain pubs that now have vegan options on their menu.
