Central London restaurant recommendations

Hello,

I'm meeting a friend for lunch in Central London next weekend. She's a real meat eater, and I'm vegan. She's also really fussy - doesn't like anything spicy or unusual.

Can anyone recommend a restaurant (preferably not a chain) with some really good vegan options, as well as meat options?

Thank you

Is the Hari Krishna cafe still there in Soho? That would be an interesting experience for your friend.

We are vegan and travelling to London in September so am watching with interest.

I love Tibits which is behind Tate modern. Buffet style vegan/veggie so you can see what you want! Lovely interior no need to book. I’ve been with meat eaters and they always find something nice too - pasta, lasagne etc

Thank you - I love both Mildreds and Tibits!

I'm really looking for restaurants which do both meat and vegan. My friend is a real carnivore and isn't really happy unless the dish contains some kind of meat! Last time we met up, we went to Bills which was great because it has lots of meat dishes and a good number of vegan options as well. I'm looking for something similar but preferably not a chain...

Try Yalla Yalla just off Oxford Street. Israeli street food. You can get lots of little dishes, like a meze, and some beers. There's something for everyone.

Maison Don Felipe near the Old Vic ( near Waterloo station ) is a well established Tapas bar so if you like that kind of thing you can just order up your own vegetarian / vegan / meat options. I took an American client there once because he said he was vegetarian and I do think tapas is a fairly easy way to cater for that ( vegan - I could not say so much - you would have to decide ) - but anyway - he ordered a whole load of chicken things , whereupon I said I thought you were vegetarian & apparently chicken didn't count.
