Help: need dairy free and egg free icing sugar

Hi, I am making a vegan cake, got a great recipe, but I need vegan icing sugar to make a buttercream icing. It's vegan due to severe egg and dairy allergy, is there any out there that are suitable? In the UK. All I can find have an egg warning.
TIA

Do you have a food processor? If so use the caster or granulated sugar you used to make the cake, and pulse it to icing sugar in the processor.

I tried that once. Didn't work. The sugar was still gritty.

My DS has a severe egg and dairy allergy and we just ignore the egg warnings as otherwise he would never have any icing sugar. He is really sensitive to traces and has never reacted to icing sugar.

Sainsburys icing sugar used to be vegan, haven't used it for a while though so maybe check that.

I’m pretty sure both Billingtons and Tate & Lyle are vegan

Tate and Lyle icing sugar is apparently ok for vegans

Does it have to be butter cream?
Could you make a ganache from dairy free chocolate, and a cream substitute? Would that work???? You can beat it once cool if you want it to be lighter and aerated.

Thank you all so much, that's great.
