Anyone had one? The hype has been wild!

I got one today though and I have to say it was pretty good, still thinking about it now Grin

I had one yesterday - it was ok - I wouldn’t go out of my way to have another!

kikisparks · 05/01/2019 16:30

It is quite high in calories and fat I think I’ll mostly be having it as a treat.

I tried to get one today but our Greggs isn’t doing them.

NRPDad · 07/01/2019 19:52

I'm doing veganuary and had one today. For any long term vegans who haven't tasted meat in a long time, it tastes just like a meat sausage roll.

Less fat and higher protein than the meat sausage roll. I'd actually recommend that omnivores should always buy it over the meat version.

cushioncovers · 07/01/2019 20:10

Haven't had one yet but will try one when I'm there next.

NoTeaNoShadeNoPinkLemonade · 07/01/2019 20:14

My dd had one today amd let me have a bite. I thought it tasted a bit like bacon...she was not amused

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 07/01/2019 20:14

It's really nice. Obviously not one for everyday, but great as an occasional treat.

Iamtheresurrection · 07/01/2019 20:15

Is it the same as the quorn ones you buy in Tesco?

notacooldad · 07/01/2019 20:17

Yeah, I had one on Saturday. I liked it.
I got a message from my friend asking if I had tried one yet as he had and he liked it as well.

Frosty66611 · 07/01/2019 20:20

I really enjoyed the one I had yesterday. It tasted 99% like the meat one

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 07/01/2019 20:21

It's better than the Quorn ones, because it's hot and the pastry is tastier.

EduCated · 07/01/2019 20:23

Had one the day they came out, largely by accident - I thought it tasted just like a normal Greggs sausage roll (am not vegan). Vegan DH thought it was v tasty, but has been veggie since he was a child so hasn’t had a meaty Greggs to compare Grin

Onemorefireball · 07/01/2019 20:26

They keep selling out in ours. We were pretty disappointed after trying 2 greggs in one day and not finding one. But then we went to warrens (who really should publicise their vegan pasties more) and all was good!

FreakForHummous · 07/01/2019 20:53

The nearest Greggs to me that sells them is about 30 miles away Sad But I'm seriously considering making the journey!

DialsMavis · 07/01/2019 20:56

Yes was delicious but will be strictly hang over food as trying to lose weight

notacooldad · 07/01/2019 21:02

They are nice with brown sauce!

fermezzlabouche · 10/01/2019 20:09

Finally had one today thought it was really nice for a treat.

cushioncovers · 10/01/2019 20:31

Is it the same as the quorn ones you buy in Tesco?

Quorn is a brand name and they have teamed up with Greggs to make the sausage roll. Quorn is the brand with the orange colour packets.

BlackPrism · 10/01/2019 21:05

I wanted one but they'd run out

cushioncovers · 18/01/2019 09:56

Yep my local store had run out as well.

kikisparks · 18/01/2019 13:03

Apparently there’s a nationwide shortage, the factory can’t make them quick enough, but Greggs have said they’re going to roll them out to all stores.

Worth the wait imo.. Never eaten a meat one tbh. Much better than other Quorn products. Well done Greggs!!
