Hiya,

Wonder if anyone can help, my DN is newly Vegan and is coming to our house for New Years Eve Dinner, I am fine for starter and main but really struggling for Desserts. Trying to avoid giving her and individual vegan cheesecake or similar, looking for something quite tempting that wont single her out. Have access to most supermarkets. All suggestions very welcome x

From memory the Sainsburys value apple pie is vegan, as is the Mr Kipling treacle tart. Both lovely with some vegan custard (Alpro do a carton in the free from non chilled section) or ice cream (vanilla swedish glace).

Oh lovely, was thinking about doing a warm apple pie as a choice anyway so that would work out well. Thank you x

If you fancy making your own really easy, quick vegan dessert.... try avocado mousse. You can buy frozen avocado halves in Tesco to make it even easier. Basically mush the avocado with some cocoa powder and maple syrup (I use honey as a vegetarian but other sugary syrup would work!). It’s delicious. I’ve even served it to non-vegans who didn’t know it wasn’t regular mousse.

Waitrose fruit strudel is vegan. So is Birds custard powder- i make it with rice milk.

There’s so many amazing vegan ice creams now. I just buy them for everyone, no one can tell the difference
