Post workout breakfast ideas for a lazy vegan

Hi everyone,

Tofuspam me with your breakfast ideas please. I'm usually a peanut butter on on toast kind of girl but I'm starting to get a bit sick of it. I don't like sweet breakfasts so if it's savoury then that's better and ideally it would have a high protein count as I eat after my run.
Thanks everyone :-) xx

How about hummus on toast for a bit of variety? Or a savoury porridge?

SweetThames · 19/05/2017 16:58

Beans on toast?

Porridge with spinach, lentils and peas stirred through (my post-workout breakfast of choice!)?

SentientCushion · 19/05/2017 17:03

Ooh that porridge idea sounds good!

Sliced Tofu fried in a splash of rapeseed oil (Dragonfly marinated brand is the tastiest tofu around) plus mashed avocado sprinkled with a pinch of chilli on toast.

Felafels in pita.

Porridge with a spoonful each of coconut oil and almond butter is also good

Teardropexplodes · 19/05/2017 18:41

Some kind of smoothie with protein powder?

ItsAllGoingToBeFine · 19/05/2017 18:42

If you're really lazy then have some Huel....

needastrongone · 19/05/2017 18:44

Banana, porridge made with coconut water (honest, it's so creamy and lovely), maybe some honey or dried fruit to sweeten if you need to.

Avo on toast with cherry toms. Avo on toast with chia seeds?

Smoothie?

needastrongone · 19/05/2017 18:45

Almond milk smoothie with a spoonful of peanut or cashew butter and banana, frozen berries?

needastrongone · 19/05/2017 18:47

Very very strong chocolate does work in porridge too, bitter but sweet iyswim? Chopped hazelnuts in porridge too.

Fried mushrooms on toast

Kichiri (the original kedgeree)? recipe here Obvs would have to make this beforehand, I wouldn't knock this up before work personally.

Rockaby · 19/05/2017 19:05

Was also going to say Huel. I haven't tried it, but I e heard the unsweetened version is fairly palatable.

ItsAllGoingToBeFine · 19/05/2017 19:31

I don't know about the unsweetened, but the sweetened version is very nice. I drink it made up with water and nothing else usually.

SentientCushion · 19/05/2017 19:35

Does huel fill you up? And does it make you bloat a bit like other protein shakes?

Honestly, yon have to try it and see. Different people respond differently. They do sample packs...

Iamastonished · 19/05/2017 21:02

Westfacing which shops sell Dragonfly branded tofu? I can only get Cauldron where we live.

Westfacing · 20/05/2017 06:04

I get if from Ocado.

Taifun brand comes a close second.

Mysteriouscurle · 31/05/2017 01:12

For the weekend I like Vbites rashers on bread. My favourite cafe does a vegan brekkie including those with beans vegan sausages cherry tomatoes mushroom toast and soya spread.

Bloomed · 31/05/2017 01:16
