The biggest barrier for me when it comes to making the leap to vegan- I've been vegetarian for a long time- is my great love of cheese. Are there any vegan versions you'd especially recommend? Particularly keen to know about vegan versions of goats cheese, mozzarella that melts, halloumi and mature cheddar, but any you've tried and loved it would be great to hear about :)

I just bought The Vegan Pantry and am going to try to make my own Halo Looks very simple. This may or may or not turn out well!!
(Was underwhelmed by stuff in shops ... )
Definitely not something for everyday but thought worth a go one quiet Saturday morning. If I'm going to stealth veganize my kids I need an answer to macaroni cheese ...

blue sheese is the second worst thing I've ever tasted in my life. God knows why it's in that article at all.

I have tried so many
Even the highly recommended "Vegusto" Piquant cheddar style was a bit iccy and beany imo.
For me, best so far have been violofe mild cheddar (bit plasticy but inoffensive and useful for grating on pasta. I also got a pizza company to put some on a pizza for me and it was quite nice.
Violife plastic slices for topping a vegan burger with hit the spot
Sainsbury's "free from" garlic and herb coconut based alternative to soft cheese is really quite lovely.
Tesco do a "greek style" pretend cheese that I have used in pastries with good results.
