hey. i have a two year old and a 3 month old and my partner and i would like to take our kiddies away for a week in the uk. we don't have a lot of money to spend so have been looking at caravan parks but they look hellish due to all the activities on offer (which being a londoner i can surely get on my doorstep, why on earth would i spend money to go away to that?!), not to mention their offers of 'burger king for the tots'. i (perhaps wrongly) get the impression that they would have a bit of a macdonalds type atmosphere. ? the last thing i'd want is to spend money to go somewhere i'd want to escape from!
so i'm thinking maybe a nice hostel in a coastal location with some things to explore. i'm after the feeling of being in another world. but where?
so, practically, for me right now, i suppose cycling, walking and an evening barbecue with not much inbetween sounds quite attractive, but the bf wants activities like tennis and swimming. the two year-old loves the outdoors, animals and any kind of physical activity.
mumsnet has reviews of some lovely looking places but alas they're either too far or too expensive or booked up.
please anyone do you have any suggestions for me?
