Somewhere to stop on M1 in vicinity of Leicester

We're making our annual pilgrimage to the North next week.

For once, we plan to stop on the way for a breather/picnic/activity.

We have a 10yr old DS. We don't want to go to the National Space Centre, but can anyone recommend anywhere within a 10-20 minute detour of the M1 that is worth a (briefish) visit (and includes public toilets!)? Leicester is about half-way.

That park looks promising, Lily, thanks.

Anyone else got any ideas?

days out with kids is good if you're not sure what to do, you can type in leicester and whether you want indoor or outdoors.

I think there is a farm in Loughborough, which is close to Leicester.
