Family day out in manchester

We have booked tour of old trafford for 2ds and looking for ideas for what else to do in day out in Manchester. Ds aged 5 and 7. Thks

The museum of science and industry is fantastic. Loads of hands on stuff and even a trip down a victorian sewer and a look at some communal toilets. ( This is my 8 year old DDs favourite bit).There is also a plane and spacecraft section which is super. It's free to get in and very close to Oxford Rd station. You could happily spend the day there.

Sounds great. Boys loved London science museum so this sounds right up their street
