One night with no children.

Where is the best place to stay?

I'm trying not to get too excited.

it depends on how much you want to spend.

For very posh expensive - The Royal Cresent hotel.

For lovely and posh with a fabbo spa - The Bath Spa hotel

There are loads of little independent hotels too - will go and find my list of 'nice' ones from our wedding.

We stayed here in December last year. It was lovely - easy walk down to Bath town centre, but would recommend getting a taxi back up the hill (it nearly killed me!).

If you want okay but cheap, try the Travelodge in the centre. It's a lovely big old georgian building and although has no restaurant, it's right in the centre and is surrounded by restaurants and cafes.
Our room loooked out over the rooftops - it was a beautiful view.

Still costs a fortune, but Royal Crescent in Bath have a special offer on suites if you're a Mr and Mrs Smith member.

We went on an offer once, and the suites really are lovely. What really makes this hotel though, is the Bath House spa - even dh loved it! It didn't have that girly or clinical feel of some spas, more romantic and "woody".

If we ever (wishful thinking) have a night off without ds again, I'd go there for a break.

The Queensberry

Bath Priory

The Halcyon

All worth considering.

The Francis Hotel. Right in the centre & has parking.

DH and I stayed here for our honeymoon, in the lovely Lord Nelson suite. Good breakfasts too

tracybath...the Queesberry, and Halycon are my top 2, although the price tag differs greatly on them!

The Queensberry don't seem to have any availability in July or August....that rules that out then!

And they are not answering the phone, which is a bit rubbish, when they charge £225 per night.

I think I'm going for the Halcyon, as it's only £125, but looks OK.

I'm planning to go to the spa place. Is it any good?

The Spa is great but do book ahead or you will spend ages queueing with 100s of bussed in tourists and they only let in so many at a time.

Thanks for the tip!
