Renting out your home for the London Olympics?

Hi everyone - are any Londoners considering renting out their house or a rental property for the London Olympics? What do you think is likely to the going rate? Or will you just go with the highest bidder?

We are considering spending the fortnight in London because DD1 and probably DD2 are going to be involved helping out in their respective sports and we'd like to make sure they have accommodation but I have no idea how much it is likely to cost.

Anyone any idea?

We're not in London - but only 40 minutes on the train direct to Stratford.

No idea how you'd find out, but maybe speak to some agencies that handle the Wimbledon area and see what the rates are there around the tennis each summer?

Yes, Earlybird, good idea will have a look. I have looked on-line at holiday letting sites and nobody seems to give their availability past May 2012 so its probably early days.

Can't decide whether it will be easier travelling around London or in from somewhere like DrSpechemin suggests.

Or go with youth hostel/travelodge options.

will watch with interest - I quite fancy a 2 week holiday paid for by someone else staying in my house at an exorbitant rate!

If you are needing accomodationd would probably go for YHA or Travelodge, anything else is going to be very pricey hence the fact that theya re not showing prices beyond May 2012 as we don't know the exact dat yet.

I'm considering vacating my house for 3 weeks or so during the Olympics for rental but haven't looked at sites yet to organise this....about 30 mins from Stratford.
