Hi I am looking for self catering for 2adults and 2 children aged 10,8 (have looked at coastal retreats very booked up and too pricey for us but lovely). I was hoping to find something similar if it exists for a bit cheaper with a garden preferably in July in or around northumberland area. We have never been before but we would be looking to visit the The Harry Potter Castle, beaches, hadrians wall or any other suggestions would be grateful.thanks in advance.

Hi, Firstly can I point you away from Berwick? Its not the nicest place on the coast to stay. Try looking in Seahouses. We have our own holiday cottage their. I would give you more details of our own place but we don't rent it out to people we don't know.
Try web site: holiday cottages Seahouses northumberland.
Consider Bambourgh and Beadnell too.
Hope you find somewhere nice. We love it up there.

Thanks for the advice bumbums we were looking more towards Bamburgh or Seahouses all the villages along there look quite nice. I have taken a look at the website you recommended and there are a few that take my fancy thanks again.

Did you get anywhere booked Georgeclooneyfan?
I disagree with bumbums - Berwick is a historical town and is much nicer than Seahouses. There is little in Seahouses other than fish and chip shops and loads of tourists. Bamburgh is beautiful - the castle and beach are great. Holy Island and Farne Islands worth a visit. Alnwick Gardens are fantastic.

Try Annstead Farm, just along from Seahouses. Was there recently and it was wonderful. They have a website.

Or see you might be back already!

We recently stayed in Alnwick itself. the cottage was only 1 bedroom so might not suit a family of 4. We had a fantastic time at the castle and gardens.

It's a bit further away and does not always have availability, but try Boat Farm in Bellingham, which is also convenient for Hadrian's Wall and Kielder Forest. Also, there are some fantastic places in Craster which is much nearer to Alnwick Castle, next to the beach and near the fish smoking place, but sadly outside of my budget. :-(

I think Berwick / Tweedmouth is nice and, while Seahouses itself is good for boat trips, it is - how can I put it politely? - a bit chavvy in the summer holidays.
