Bumping for you, as we quite fancy a trip to Cornwall too!

Oh Fowey we stayed there pre-kids. Stayed in the Ferryboat Inn...hubby booked a 4 Poster bed that sunk in the middle and was that high gave me vertigo!!!!

Also remember the water taxi last thing at night back across absolutely out of our head.......ah good times!!!

Yes but pre-kids, so can't recommend anywhere. But while there, we went to Lands End and the Eden Project both of which would be good with kids (In particular the latter)

rosevidneymanor.co.uk is gorgeous.

It is not far from St Ives. I wouldn't want to be in the middle of St Ives anyway. Traffic can be a bit of a nightmare.

We've been and are going again this
August.

Staying in a rental, there are loads, just google it and lots of sites will come up.

It's lovely and great for families.

We have been to St Ives many times and generally stay in downalong, which is the old fishing area in the town. Cottages have increased dramatically over the last few years. Prices are now around £1500 - £2000 plus per week for a cottage that sleeps 6, in addition parking which is expensive. There are a few companies that market properties eg St Ives Holidays prob the largest. Although I love the town recent changes have made it less attractive as a family holiday eg not many family friendly places to eat and I don't really think its very good value for money, although it is a beautiful town. We stayed in porthleven in Feb and got a very large well equipped cottage with gorgeous sea views that we could never have afforded in St Ives. Just outside the town is Tregenna Castle which has a range of cottages within the grounds. The hotel has a leisure complex and spa and they run kids clubs during peak season. If you wanted something more rural the national trust has a house in Zennor, which is about 10 min drive from St Ives. As someone else mentioned St Ives gets packed during the summer holidays which can be frustrating eg difficult to walk with a buggy (some shops have those no buggy signs)!!! We went in Oct half term a couple of years ago which was better. Think St Ives is a victim of its own success.
