Where would be nice to go in England for a night away this weekend?

It's my birthday and DP has suggested we go away, but I have no idea where. We're in south east and would prefer not a massive drive. We've been to Brighton recently so not there. Am stuck for ideas.

Highly recommend hereif you fancy a spa break an hour from London.

Or how about doing the tourist thing around Oxford or Cambridge?

ooh thank you, I am 8 wks pregnant so a spa would be a waste for me what with avoiding jacuzzi, sauna, everything fun etc

Oxford would be nice will have a look, we're quite close to Cambridge here so it's more a day visit for us.

Do you/anyone know anything about Norfolk/Suffolk and if there are any nice places to stay on the coast?

I have a lovely 3 bed caravan sited next to the lake at Butlins in Minehead, Somerset. If Butlins is not your thing, you can just use the caravan as a base to explore the area. Dunster Vilage and its castle are wonderful and so is Porlock.
