We went to Perran Sands in Cornwall about a month ago, accomodation comfy and price reasonable as we got discount for time of year or time of booking or something.
Was glad the weather was fine, we got a nice balance of off and on site activities, kids entertainment OK for DS (3) but DD (1) too young, and I'm not into bingo and talent contests so didn't rate adult entertainment much. Good walk to the beach, especially at 7months pg with SPD! Toddler wouldn't manage without buggy/carry

What are you wanting to get from the break, and who is it for?

Thanks for replying Yorky. Ist for DH DD(4) & me. Wouldnt be the bingo/contest type either ;-) was hoping it wasnt just an up market Butlins!! The beach sounds good though, just looking to get away from the daily grind & get my head showered! Poor you- my friend had SPD in her 2nd pregnancy...nightmare! Hope youre ok though!

We've been to Perran Sands a couple of times when our children were young, for long weekends. Nice setting, as yorky said, it is a trek to the beach because you have to walk over the sand dunes, but I would think a 4 year old would be ok.
The accomodation was reasonable, and the indoor pool is a bonus if the weather is dodgy.

Devon Cliffs is probably the best site and maybe Rockley Park too. Book direct with owners as you'll likely get a much better deal.

Butlins is now owned by Haven and improvements have already been put into place. Even the chalet accommodation has improved. Best place for accommodation on the site at Minehead is the caravan park at the back of the resort.

Try Sandymouth Bay holiday park in Bude or alternative accommodation in Perranporth as that Haven site is a dump (though admittedly in a good location)!
