I've booked a mid week break at Billingsmoor Farm in Devon in July for me and DS1 7 and DS2 5. And a chicken

Apart from praying the rain stops by then, any tips?

No-one? Am I going to have to think of an inspiring thread title?!

We went to one in Sussex last summer and it was lovely. Tents are equipped with everything you might need, bedding is lovely, there's lots of space in the tent.

I don't think you need any tips...hmmm...farm shop was quite expensive, so it's a good idea to plan your shopping/bring stuff with you, so you'll only get stuff like ice cream for kids, otherwise the bill can be quite high.

If it will be hot, you can roll up sides of the tent- it took us a couple of days to realise that and it makes a lot of difference.

Enjoy!

Ooh lucky you. We went to the one in Wiltshire a couple of years ago and had a great time.

In terms of tips - if you have a good cool box take it, the wooden boxes in the tents didn't keep things very cool for us. Err, can't remember anything else sorry but it is fab!

nevermind that thread, friday, it really is great for the kids

Thanks for the tips, and the link too - I have no trouble admitting I do not like camping and do not own a tent but I am prepared to give it a go because the DSs like the idea of camping.

We have booked a chicken and the DSs are going to name it "Jaws"
