Nice hotel for breaking journey between Bristol and St Ives... Exeter-ish maybe?

Can anyone recommend a hotel or somewhere to stay round Exeter/Dartmoor way please? Reasonably priced if possible. Thanks

The Royal Clarence or Hotel Barcelona in Exeter are both very good.

Hotel Barcelona closed is for renovation, and Clarence probably over budget. No other suggestions though
