Manchester Hotels - oxford or piccadilly station?

Hi all,

Im going to a concert at manchester academy on saturday and im not very good at booking hotels online etc when not knowing the area. Can anyone recommend anywhere to stay that is easy to get to from there?

what's your budget?? Is the academy at the university, on Oxford Road??? Am not going to be online over the next couple of days but the extra info will enable others to help.... basically anywhere in the town centre with either be walkable or a cheap taxi ride away....

Yes it is at the university. Thanks for the info, i will try to find something! Budget is about £80, dont really want to spend too much over that.

Days Hotel is on the university campus (the old UMIST campus) and is very close to Piccadilly station. It is a converted university building but perfectly comfortable though the more basic rooms are pretty small.

i have stayed in The Place. its appartments near picadilly. they were nice and a great way to save some cash if there is a few of you

probably too late now Mrs Daz but I know people who have stayed at the Place and really like it. Atrium by Bridge Street is similar (apartment). Days hotel would also be handy.
