Birmingham....any cool bars/restaurants....not Broad Street!!!!

Going to spend a nice night in Brum but haven't been there for ages (grew up there in the Bobby Browns/Peppermint Place/Jonathans era). So you know, proper cool bars that don't sell alcopops!!

Does anyone have any recs? Last time I went there I was taken to Broad Street and hated it!!!

Bacchus Bar at Burlington Hotel on New Street is lovely. Cielo or Edmunds are good restaurants in Brindley Place if you're feeling fairly well-off.

Or there's plenty of choice in the Mailbox. Bar Epernay is nice and does reasonable food too.
