short break away with 10 month old

Hello

I'm wondering if anyone can recommend anywhere for us take a short break (3 nights ish) with our 10 month old baby? We don't want to do a great deal - maybe some gentle walks with nice scenary, visits to little villages and pubs, maybe somewhere with a pool so we can swim with dd for the first time (though not essential!). We don't live far from the peak district so we were thinking there but then again we don't mind travelling further if its worth it! Can anyone recommend an area of the country/accommodation to stay in?

Many thanks

we liked Chester House in Bourton-on-the-water
but it's a long way from you and no pool

If you are to the north of the peak district then Northumberland is within fairly easy reach.

We loved it with our then 5mo DS - glorious beaches, ruined castles, fish and chips in cafes, and a lovely swimming pool in Alnwick for rainy days plus nice days out in Alnwick and Holy Island and boat trip to see the birds and seals. We stayed in a small self-catering cottage on the coast, and there is a good Sainsburys next to the swimming pool in Alnwick just off A1 junction which makes self-catering a straightforward option. Our DS would definitely have enjoyed it an older baby, particularly playing in the sand, and we are thinking of going again now he is a 2 year old.

babyfriendlyboltholes is a good website too.

DH took me and DS1 and DS2 (nearly 4 and 1) to Feversham Arms hotel in Yorkshire earlier this month - would definitely tick all the right boxes - and v child friendly.

www.weybourne-holiday-cottages.co.uk/. These are great and the pool is lovely and very warm, but quite a long way from you I'm afraid
