Need to have 'informal' meeting in Edinburgh and I will have 2 kids in tow - AAARGH!

I really need to get face-to-face with one of my clients whom I freelance for, but I only have time in Edinburgh with both kids.

The are very relaxed, and I am sure would have no problem having an informal chat and a coffee, but it would be ideal if I could find somewhere that the kids could play (in sight).

They are 4 and 1, although depending on time of day the youngest will be sedated sleeping

Any suggestions?

The Butterflies cafe attached to Marchmont St Giles here is very child friendly. They have a play area in sight with toy kitchens, playhouse etc. It can get quite busy late morning/lunchtime though. It opens at 10am and I think it closes at 4pm.

It's not too far from the Meadows if you want to fit in a visit to a great play park too!

Was just about to suggest the same place!

That looks lovely!

What's parking like?

There is parking opposite and also on local streets roundabout there.

Could you hire a babysitter for an hour or so to take the DC to the park? I am sure someone on here could recommend one.

s'not a bad idea Mme!...

It's metered parking locally - £1 an hour. The main roads are for a max of 2 hours but the side streets are usually 4.
