I live in London and don't want to travel hours and hours but would love to go somewhere that is cheap this summer.

Thanks

Matlock Bath? Might need a cagoule, but there's lots to do and it's scenic.

How old are the children? I grew up near Matlock Bath and it has Gullivers Kingdom, which is good - not a lot else though, unless you are keen walkers.

Is Edinburgh too far to travel? It's lovely and there's plenty to do.

Cornwall? Devon?

We had a brilliant holiday once with the Field Studies Centre, that organises activities like pond dipping, river wading etc for families - maybe worth a look?

My mate goes caravaning (static) by the beach on the IOW. They love it
