Desperate to get away for a week in May and don't want to drive anywhere once we get there. Sherwood is closest to us and have heard good reports of it. Our dc's are 6, 3 and the twins will be 18 months when we go. Stayed once at longleat when ds1 was nearly 3, bit of a disaster for various reasons but keen to try again!
Can anyone advise on

a) what type of accommodation. Would bedrooms be big enough to house 2 travel cots so we could stick all 4 in one room? )hopeful)

b) where would be best on site? thought we would hire trailer for the dt's but take double buggy as well

c) which activities (other than pool) would suit the ages and what's worth pre-booking?

d) is childcare any good? Think 6yo would go, not sure about the other 3, do I have to pre book that also?

many many thanks for any advice, this will b first proper hol since dts were born and want it to be a proper break!

(a) Unlikely to fit two cots in one room, we had woodland lodges and they would fit one travel cot in between the twin beds but not easily, we ended up with DS in a travel cot in our room. Which was fine for one but not for two. Mind you, we got a three bed which worked fine.
(b) Wherever you go will be far from some bits. If you plan to park the children get a lodge near there!
(c) tatty bumpkins is good, for the 3 yr old, the musical hour thing (can't remember what it's called) for tots was good too for anyone between 18 months and 3 - some of the activities they have to be two for ) Don't know about the activities for older kids.
(d) Didn't use the childcare, sorry!

thanks chocolate, shall look up the activities. Was hoping to find a few things that the 3 youngest ones could go to (music etc). Bit worried about the cot situation, I suppose I'll have to ring them to see. Prob. 2 bed is being a bit hopeful for us, have never had all 4 in a bedroom anyway.
