Will be in Cornwall for May half term and wanted to hop over to Scilly for 2 or 3 nights but everywhere I have tried either wants me to book a full week as it is 'high' season or is prohibitively expensive...anyone know of places that will have us (2 adults, 2 children)for a few days only. Any island!! Thanks....

I think you will struggle for half term - demand is always high.

Might be worth trying an agent - Island Properties is the largest.

You might also be better trying last minute, if someone still has vacancies a few weeks before then they might be more willing to do a short let.

Hi. I'm the Tourism Officer here on the Isles of Scilly - and also a single mum of 2 small boys (aged 3 and 4). Do give my office a ring on 01720 424042 and I'm sure we can help you find something. Though there is a perception that we are always full and a bit pricey, the TIC front desk staff have all the latest availability and special offers. There are some great family places to stay, and wonderful short break ideas for families! If I'm at my desk, do ask to speak to me and I can tell you all about things to do with kiddywinks! Hope to see you soon, Kate Sleep - Tourism Officer for the Council of the Isles of Scilly

Hope you manage to find somewhere. We went for the day the last time we were in Cornwall and it was just fantastic. I didn't want to leave and wished we'd booked a week there.
