Griffin Forest near York is lovely. Not much in the way of facilities but not far from york & accomodation is fab (assuming you'll be in in the evenings with dd in bed)

It was nice! I saw it on here and we went for honeymoon, dh wants to go back and I looked it up again and i had forgotten how much

Ooh - I am going to bookmark Griffin Forrest, it looks lovely!

Another place to consider is Bluestone in Pembrokeshire. We had a lovely time there last year with DD who was just short of 2 yrs old at the time. Lots to do both in and around the place & the lodges are very nice.
