Believe it or not we took dd8 and ds 5 to legoland in the summer and the highlight for the kids was the hotel we stayed in.... swimming pool on tap... it was a hilton, nothing fancy just nice and clean....

so... we've decided this half term for a poss two nights we'd book ourselves into a hotel (this time incl the naughty 3 yr old!... she stayed at hotel grannies last time!) with a swimming pool, somewhere where there is someting in the vincinity to sxplore (outdoorsey?) but... this sort of hotel always seems to be incity centre... and it has got to be not too far from the west midlands... don't want to travel for hours and hours... York would have been great but the hotel there doesn't have a pool!

does this all seem plausible?

so basically what i';m looking for is...

  • a hilton like hotel
  • with a pool
-0 something interesting for kids to explore
  • interconnecting rooms
  • swimming pool

any ideas????

ta!

hi, not sure if its any use, but no other ideas yet! we've been to lovely family hotel at Lytham St Annes, a few times, its called The Dalmeny, has lovely swimming pools, we noramlly upgrade and have a premier room as they are MUCH larger (only £15 extra), near the beach/sand dunes, promenade with pier (limited things on in bad weather) but there is a creche if you want to use it and evening entertainment okay, also not far from blackpool if you really want to blow some money!!!
hth!!

We've ben on the sort of break that you describe a couple of times. It really depends on the sorts of activities that your children enjoy. Earlier this yar, we went to Oxford and stayed at the Holiday inn. The only drawback is that it is outside town and you need to take the Park and Ride to get into the centre. However there are other places that you could visit around Oxford.

We also went to a hotel with a swimming pool that was in Markyate in Hertfordshire. It was part of a chain - can't remember which one. From there, we went to St Albans and Milton Keynes. There is a great little theme Park just outside MK - Gulliver's World.
