Going to see a show with my 10 year old daughter in Manchester on 30th December, travelling from North Wales. The show is the next day, so we're overnighting. I booked a cheap travelodge room (Manchester Ancoats) ages ago(£9+£11 for breakfast and evening meal). Now I'm thinking I'd like a bit of luxury instead, last year we treated ourselves to the Manchester Hilton and I saw the Midland hotel and thought it looked well nice. Am looking at the Midland hotel for about £94 bed, breakfast and evening meal or £66 bed and breakfast and popping to the travelodge for our evening meal, though it looks a bit of a hike?
Don't know Manchester that well, how busy would it be on that date? Should I go for either of the Midland options, which looks to be a very nice hotel with pool or just stay at the Travelodge? I won't get my money back from the Travelodge. Feel like I'm being a bit extravagant, but don't do this very often.
Advice appreciated.
