Ok, so we have had the 3 months of constant crying, the first experience of vomiting flu/ exorcist style puking and made dash to emergency docs and now are a glimmer of normality descends we would like to take a week off and travel somewhere relaxing!

Any suggestions?

Criteria.....

Room for 2 adult plus cot (ds is 4 months old)

In the U.K. ....... Max. drive 3 hours from London

Ideally with creche facilities for a rare one or two hours of baby free time (i.e. most probably - sleep)

Budget of max £400

min 4 nights max 7

First week of Dec.

Thank you

Honestly? I would ditch the creche facility idea and get a cottage somewhere. I can't think of anything worse than having to share a hotel room with a small baby. You either have to go to bed when they do, put the to sleep in the bathroom then be very quiet and hope you don't need the loo or keep them out with you which sometimes works fine but other times is hellish. At least with a cottage you can put them to bed and then relax and I guess you may be able to get a baby sitter or something through an agency which wouldn't be any idfferent to using hotel facilities.

definitely don't do the hotel, we did it for a few days when DD was 4 months, and hadn't thought about it. It was tricky to get out to eat in the evening, ended up sat in the hotel room with the lighting dimmed talking quietly and reading in poor light.

I second the cottage suggestion, just get somewhere with roaring log fires (it'll prob be the last time for a few years!!), big sofas and a big bath
