trying again is it only premier inns or are there any family apartments?

Waterloo Novotel have family rooms for 4 - lovely place as well with pool etc. Dont you would get it for that price though. I am sure most travel lodges do 4 person family rooms, and some of them are central.

thanks notyummy, will check novotel out

We stayed in the Marriott Regents Park. It ISN'T very near Regents Park, it is smack in the middle of Swiss Cottage, but VERY close to the tube station therefore. Budget might not quite stretch - was about 100 I think, but in their favour, if you have any Tesco clubcard vouchers you can use those!

It is brilliant for a number of reasons. OK its a big chain but a. they do excellent family rooms (sleeping up to 5 - yay!) and b. it has a pool. c. would be walking distance to Primrose Hill which is fantastic for burning off energy, with a great little play area. And you can actually walk to Regents Park and Zoo etc over PrimHill but a bit of a way for really little ones.

I would happily stay there again. Although it wasn't completely central, the public transport is so good, it doesn't matter.

ooh thanks for that, spent my student years near swiss cottage so would quite enjoy that!

Does anyone know anywhere else that do family rooms big enough for five in the London travel zone area???

mummymeister · 10/11/2009 22:53

We are a family of 5 so the travelodge type places are too expensive and we are split up so we stay at the John Howard Hotel appartments. Not cheap but not extortionate either. We stay in one with 3 bedrooms and a little kitchen too so we don't always have to eat out. It is just round the corner from the Albert Hall so all of the good museums are in walking distance and the bus tour stops nearby. Ideal for short breaks in London

I stayed at a premier inn (tower hill) over half term - me plus 2 DCs, the room actually had space for four people (double bed plus two singles) and wasn't too cramped. I paid over the odds because of last-minute booking at half term, but other times I think you could get a room for about £80. Breakfast was extra (£7.95, I think) but children were free, so it was not bad value for three of us.
