Cottage holiday with access to a swimming pool and swings

We are a family of four with a baby of 3 months and a 2 year old. We want to take a week's holiday in November and wonder if anyone has been to and can recommend a family friendly place with access to a pool nearby or on site and a playground within walking distance? We just want to chill out and perhaps do a bit of walking in the countryside.

We like self-catering cottage type holidays and are not into places that are really touristy or package holidays. Thanks for your suggestions.

We always go here and have a wonderful time. It is exceptionally child-friendly.

We've been to two places this year

here

and here

Both were great (with a 2 year old and 6 year old). I know a couple of people who've got really good deals for booking out of season/last minute on the second one

bosinver has a playground onsite with a trampoline, a zip wire and a small soft-play barn. It also has an outdoor pool but I shouldn't think it would be open in Nov. St Austell has a public pool though.

try www.oldhallfarmcottages.co.uk in Walpole Suffolk - we stayed there in July with DS1 (aged 3) and DS2 (aged 4 and a half months then) in Henry's Barn. The indoor play barn is great when its raining - the pony there is lovely and the indoor covered pool is brilliant. And Lucy the owner is great - provides everything you ask for re babykit (travelcot, stairgates, steriliser, high chair etc) and even provides cake and tea when you arrive. Tesco deliver there - we did an online shop to arrive on our first day - and there are loads of nice day outings around there. There's also a tiny playground in Walpole you could walk to if so minded which has swings in.

If you do go to it, word to the wise - the downstairs bedroom is nice and dark but the upstairs ones are quite light (esp in the early morning) - though in November that shouldnt be such an issue.

www.celtichaven.co.uk It's in Tenby and we had a wonderful holiday there earlier this year. Our DS was 22 months old at the time.
