wedding venues - didn't know where to put this!

Has anyone got any recommendations of places to get married that are not overpriced or charge over 2.5k just to rent space! Looking for somewhere in Wiltshire region.

Any suggestions appreciated. Alternative is registry office wedding in Bath so any venues in Bath for reception which are more relaxed would be gratefully received.

We got married in the Bath Spa Hotel back in 2003 which for what we wanted was pretty good value (civil ceremony, reception outside, meal and dancing). If you get in touch with the Bath registry office they will give you a list of approved venues and then you can get in touch with them. Generally weddings on a day other than Friday or Saturday are miles cheaper.

We saw a couple of really brilliant venues outside of Wiltshire/Somerset - including a brilliant barn conversion where you could get married in a gazebo outside - but they couldnt do the dates we wanted.

Do you remember what the barn was called?

My SIL attended a wedding at Priston Mill which is 6 miles from Bath and she said the venue was gorgeous. Can't comment on the price (has a tythe barn & watermill)Hope this helps.

Had another idea ... The Oak Hall at Westonbirt Arboretum ... (10 miles N from M4)

Sorry - really cant remember though as was a while ago though the watermill sounds familiar! There are books you can buy which list venues where you can married (we found this book in our local bookshop) and went through it
