plus dh and dog of course

I've already ordered my birthday cake from Chococo in Swanage (yay, I get to be 37 when I go away). We are staying at Durdle Door.

We want to go to Corfe Castle as have seen it mentioned before.

Flatcap, 5gomad, others - what's fab and we shouldn't miss?

I used to live in Dorset but haven't been for many years, so can't recommend specific activities.

Weymouth is lovely, has sealife centre and museums, time walk, beach and The Nothe fort

Portland bill,Lulworth Cove, Cerne Abbas are nice.
Abbostsbury has a swannery and tropical gardens.

Monkey world near Wareham is well worth a visit.

Dorchester has a museum .

That's all I can think of now but I'm sure some Darzet folk will be along soon.

ooh, thanks for that (goes off to google monket dorset)

can you recommend any ice cream shops or fish and chips shops/tea shops?

Moor Valley Park is great for kids, and does nice food.

Mudeford is lovely for the beach and cafe

Shell Bay etc on the ferry from Poole, is lovely too.

Second Moors Valley, it's fab. Mudeford is lovely too. Bournemouth is reasonable for shopping. Swanage is a great little seaside town too.

there is bovington tank museum but hopefully you will be spared that with a dd.

could go to brownsea island on boat trip from poole. aquaria at weymouth or bournemouth.

just have a good explore round the whole area - arne, kimmeridge. is lovely.

Rossi's ice cream shop on the promenade does the best ice cream I have ever tasted. The Malborough fish and chip shop on the town bridge in Weymouth is my absolute favourite.

Moors valley has the thumbs up from me too, as does Brownsea Island.
