As the title suggests - live in London, have heard that Kent has a lovely coastline and we want to drive through for the day on Thursday. When researching on the internet there are a few areas/beaches to chose from - which is the best?????

Well, I'm think it's more Sussex than Kent but Camber Sands is amazing and is used on the television for all 'sandy' programmes. Great fun with children of all ages due to the Dunes.

Broadstairs otherwise if you really want Kent.

Oh good question Semper, I'd also like to know which beaches are good and easy to get to.

i live in kent and if you have kids sandgate near folkestone is brilliant. theres a massive adventure playpark and a lovely little cafe by the beach. I think its called the lower leas coastal park.i would give folkestone a miss though!!!

Thanks all - we plumped for Broadstairs in the end and had a lovely day!

Camber Sands looked extremely appealing but was just that little bit too far away.

Thanks again
