Tenby in the rain. Been there. Did that last year.

There is nice place for coffee and hot choc. It's great splashing through the ford at Laugharne in wellies. There's the library...

I think we'll have fun anyway but would be nice to go armed with plan 'b's for any wet beach hol.

What are your wet hol plans?

We're just back from a wet week in Cornwall. I'm afraid we just gave in to it in the end.

Wellies and raincoats on for everyone and just doing what we normally did.

To be fair, there were some sunny spells amongst the showers, so we went to the beach, bought a little beach tent for our stuff and if the rain got too heavy, we all huddled into the tent until it passe. The dc's reckoned the sand castles were better with wet sand

We also took dvd's and had an indoor pool, so it wasn't too bad

wetsuits for the beach

seek out the indoor leisure centre - there's bound to be a pool that you can use and normally they are quite good

find a clay modelling place (weirdly, there seem to be loads of these!)

find all the local national trust places

A beach tent. we spent a week in devon in the rain last year and the dcs were great, both in all in one suits,on the beach, running round having a great time. I, on the other hand, was sitting behind a wind break shivering with a cup of tea. This year, I am prepared, we have bought a beach tent so at least i will be dry with my cup of tea!!

Wetsuits, yes. We will probably submit to these.

Clay is a good idea, as is leisure centre. To be fair there are lots of little places round about to keep us busy. Not like being in Med in downpours when no infrastructure for it.

Fox, interesting link. TBH I have benefitted a lot from THINKING it was going to be good weather. It has meant I've looked forward to our week away loads, which is lots of what hols are about I reckon.

so have I toots. In fact, I said to dh that no matter what, I am just so looking forward to a break from work and time with the kids (and him of course ) that I'm sure I'll hardly notice the weather.

Would be nice to have some sun though wouldn't it!

We spent 20th-24th nr Lands End prepared for the worst, but had 3 glorious days on beaches!
Warning - Weaver fish are on some beaches, not only in C/wall. A sting can be nasty as pain is intense. So wear 'dippers' on feet. Antidote given by RNLI lifeguard - water as hot as you can bear. For more info Google: BBC News weaver fish.
