Suggestions for Farm Stay or Cottage in Northern Lake District?

We're thinking of going "all Country" for a few days. DC's would love to be around farm animals & maybe climb/walk up a very small mountain. Quite a low budget.... Anyone got any suggestions?

If you stay just outside the Lakes, prices are a lot lower. Have a look at the Caldbeck area or the Eden Valley.

Thanks for the suggestion. Am now interested in a possible Lakes stay but would prefer the northern lakes as we have already done Windermere several times.
